Hey friends, it’s Quick Tip Tuesday where I answer a quick question submitted by you my podcast listeners. If you have a question that you want me to answer on one of these Quick Tip Tuesday episodes, just go to my website, Angel swan.com/quick tip and submit your question. Today’s question is, how do you get yellow baby poop stains out of your clothes? Well, believe it or not, this is actually really easy. That’s right. If your baby had a blowout that got all over their cute little outfit, and maybe even on you, your clothes are not ruined. All you have to do is follow these four simple steps. First, you immediately rinse the clothes in cold water, you need to use cold water because hot water tends to set in stains and make them harder to get out. Second, you want to scrub the stain with dish soap. That’s right, we are not using any special laundry pretreatment. Just plain old dish soap. Just use your hands to scrub the stain really vigorously with a lot of dish soap and then rinse it and wring out the water. Third, you’re going to wash the clothes as you normally would. Again, you don’t need any special detergents. Just wash it how you would normally wash your clothes. If you don’t have enough clothes to add to the washer right now to make it a full load. It’s okay to just leave your damp poopy clothes in the hamper until you’re ready to wash them. Your outfit will probably come out of the wash with a yellow stain on it. But that is totally okay because we still have one more step left to this process that’s going to get the stain out for good. Which brings us to the fourth step, which is to lay your damp clothes out in the sun to dry the sun naturally bleaches out stains. This is a really popular trick that a lot of cloth diapering moms know. But I feel like most other moms have no idea about this and they just toss out perfectly good outfits once they’ve been pooped on. So even if it’s raining or it’s a cloudy day, this will work because the sun’s UV rays are still present. But it does work faster if you can get it in direct sunlight. And that is how you get yellow baby poop scenes out of clothes. Isn’t that great? Your outfits are not ruined. So if you have poopy, poopy, same clothes, you know, you’ve already watched him. Go ahead and like lay him out in the sun and watch the stains go away.
