Hey friends, welcome to Quick Tip Tuesday. Today we’re going to talk about my favorite way to help your baby out with their constipation or even just gas pains. But really quick before we get into it, I just wanted to remind you to go to my website, Angel swan.com and grab my free postpartum planner, it is the ultimate tool that’s going to guide you through building up your support system, even if you feel like you don’t have one. So this will help you know who you can rely on for all of the things baby care, breastfeeding support, meal prep, or planning divvying out household chores and baby duties. I really took a lot of time when I created this planner to make sure I gave you the most holistic postpartum planner out there. So go to my website, Angel swan.com or check the episode description for the direct link. All right now for this quick tip. First, I want to say it is totally normal for babies to go up to like five days without pooping. So if your baby does go longer than five days, that’s when it is warranted, I’ll say to call the pediatrician for additional help. This doesn’t mean that anything’s wrong necessarily. But your pediatrician knows more about your baby than I do like as an individual so they can give you some more tips based on your baby’s history and health and all that stuff. But here’s my tip, so we’re going to use some reflexology to cure your baby’s constipation and tummy pains. So again, this helps with pooping gas general discomfort. If your baby’s having a cranky day, you could even do this because usually it’s tummy pain that’s causing our babies to be mad. So like a little foot massage will help with that. But oh, I got ahead of myself. Okay, so here’s what you do, you’re going to lay your baby on your lap with their head like on your knees and their feet towards you. So you’re going to use your hands to hold their ankles, wrap your fingers around their ankles, and then take your thumbs and use your thumbs to massage their heel. I want you to rub in a circular motion, gently but also firmly. Not too hard. Not too soft, right? Don’t be so vague Angel. It’s it’s hard to explain in a podcast. But it’s important to know. So Robin is circular motion, occasionally stroking upward toward their toes. Sometimes it’s a lot of simulation, right to have that rubbing on the heels for such a long time. So that’s why we take a break and go up towards their toes every now and then and then get back to the heel. So doing this heel massage, paired with like bicycle kicks or doing like paddles on the belly, which is just like, you take your hand each hand flat, and then start kind of at the top your baby’s tummy, go down with one hand, and then follow that by the second hand, go from the top and work your way down. It’s paddling. If you don’t, I’m not doing a good job explaining that part just like Google, it’s, it’s very simple. But you’re basically just like stroking their belly, down and down, down. So doing the heel massage paired with the bicycle kicks is usually all that it takes. And you’re going to get the biggest poop ever out of your baby. So be warned, you might want to put a blanket under your baby because I’m not kidding. This is one of the biggest poops that you’re ever gonna see. More than likely Okay, so be prepared for a blowout. Now, if you try this tip, I really want to hear from you about how it went. Yes, send me a message about your baby’s poop. I’m excited to hear from you. So send me a DM on Instagram. At Angel dot swan. My last name is spelled SW o n. Or you can send me an email to Angel at Angel Swan calm and tell me all about it. And if you’ve been listening to my podcast this far, and you haven’t taken one minute to leave me a review on Apple podcasts. Would you please do that for me today? If I’ve helped you in any way, if you’ve learned something new, the best way to thank me is to leave me a five star rating and a written review. This literally takes just one tiny minute of your time. But it makes a huge impact on my day and on the day of another mom who found my podcast because you took that little bit of time to leave me a review. Seriously. Every single review bumps up this podcast and the parenting charts, which means that more moms like you who might need to hear this advice can easily find it. That is all for today’s Quick Tip Tuesday. Thank you again for listening. I so appreciate you. I will talk to you soon. Bye bye
